A one-year scheme designed to support farmers in improving flock performance and animal welfare on farm. 

Complete 2 mandatory (Category A) actions (can vaccinate ewes for Clostridial or Bluetongue)

Choose 1 optional (Category B) action

Payment will be per eligible Breeding Ewe and payment for full scheme compliance will be up to €13 per ewe where a farmer has selected and delivered two Category A actions and one Category B action.

To qualify, farmers must have an active herd number, submit a valid BISS application, and complete the sheep census.

Scheme runs: Jan – Dec 2026

All actions must be completed by the chosen deadline to secure full payment. Actions selected must be completed by 13th October 2026, however applicants who are unable to complete their chosen actions by this date can select the later date of 24th November 2026. 

Application closing date is Friday 15 May 2026.
